Introduced in 1999 as Opels contender to the Corolla/Civic class, the Astra can be had in either sedan or wagon configuration. Although the wagon model rivals the Suzuki Esteem, it does not affect in any way. Sales stopped in 2004 to give way to the Chevrolet Optra.
